James D. Allen is Emeritus Professor at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1982. His major scholarly and research interests focus on how theories of learning, motivation, development and assessment inform management of instructional practices. In addition to 35 years as a college professor, he has taught mathematics and developed math curricula at the secondary and post-secondary levels. He is also an active fine arts photographer (a.k.a., Jim Allen) who has exhibited his images in over 40 exhibitions.

 

Steve Black portraitSteve Black is Associate University Librarian at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. Prior to becoming a librarian, Steve was a high school social studies teacher. He was a reference and instruction librarian at the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY, from 1995 to 2014.
